The folks behind Jewlicious Festival are proud to announce our first ever summer festival, Camp Jewlicious. It's a Jewlicious Festival, but in the summer, and at camp.

But wait there's more. This summer, you can also learn tools to help promote and empower your cause at our Grassroots Organizing Summit. Participants may qualify for scholarship to Camp Jewlicious!

Camp Jewlicious Activities for 2010 include music, sports, swimming, arts & crafts, horseback riding, climbing, gardening, yoga, hiking, shabbat programs, bonfire, kumzits and much more.

Lag B'Omer: Kabbalah, Mystics, Bonfires and Music

On Lag B'Omer you can be a Kabbalist for a day.
Lag B'Omer is the largest pilgrimage holiday on the Jewish calendar today. Lag B'Omer helps us access levels of understanding and opens up the world of mysticism for every Jew.

But what does all of this have to do with hair cuts, bonfires, bows and arrows, Kabbalah, mystics, music, all night celebrations at Mount Meron in Israel? Join us tomorrow evening to find out why

Lag B'Omer Bonfire Party

Come out and celebrate with us at our annual Lag B'Omer bonfire with games, food, music and friends. Last year we had over 400 people in attendance. Bring your drums, guitars, violins and anything else you can play for our 12 Tribes Drum Circle Jam Session. 6 PM – 10 PM Sunday, 5/2 2010 For location and more info, click here.

Yoga with Marcus J. Freed

JConnectLA presents two workshops with the witty, worldly and wise BibliYogi, educator and performer Marcus J Freed of London. The workshops are one hour Vinyasa flow sessions for all levels of yoga from beginner to advanced. However, it is not for total novices.

WHEN: Monday, May 17, 8pm - Yoga for Summer Loving, Part 1 – The Energy Sequence (A heart-centred session to build energy and open the heart)

Monday, May 24, 8pm – Yoga for Summer Loving, Part 2 – The Endurance Sequence (A Bibliyoga series that gives tools to endure for the long-term, increasing personal power and effectiveness).

WHERE: L.A.'s premier dance studio – Mimoda Studio Theatre, 5774 W. Pico Blvd (two blocks east of Fairfax) Los Angeles CA 90019
(Entrance is on Ogden side, back of the building.)

COST: The one hour classes are $15 each, or both classes for $25 and are limited to 50 students.

TORAHRAMA: SHAVUOT ON TAP

Rabbi Besser Video & Book

Rabbi Yonah's rabbi and mentor, Rabbi Haskel Besser, passed away a month ago at the age of 87 and was buried in Jerusalem. If you are looking for an inspiring story and book check out "Rabbi of 84'th St" and see more about him in this video.

Kira Soltanovich (Star of Girls Behaving Badly)

Kira has been a winner, finalist and semi-finalist of several comedy competitions, including Comedy Central's Laugh Riots, NBC's Last Comic Standing, The Cape Town International Comedy Festival, the Boston Comedy Festival, and the Seattle International Comedy Festival. Simcha Levenberg
Born in Washington DC and bred in New Jersey, Simcha is our only comedian who also doubles as a Rabbi. A self-dubbed spiritual gangster, he draws out the comedic side of sprituality, G-d, world religion, meditation, drugs, as well as the counter-culture, music, and anything written by Tom Robbins. We are happy to welcome Simcha back to the festival to, once again, press the reset button on all stereotypes: Jewish, Rabbinic or otherwise.

Robin Reiser
Robin Reiser is a stand-up comic and super model. The modeling career is really going badly so she is now a writer. To keep up appearances, she writes in full runway make up and does an outfit change every fifteen minutes! Find her online HERE!

Lizzy Cooperman

Lizzy Cooperman has been featured on "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson", and has been featured on NBC's "Last Comic Standing", MTV's "Most Valuable Players", and The History Channel's "History of the Joke: Part One".

She is a winner of the Laugh Across America Contest and her stand-up comedy has also been featured in "New Faces" and "Dating It" at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal. Lizzy was a finalist at The Las Vegas Comedy Festival, and featured in "Best of the Fest" at the New York Underground Comedy Festival. Check her out here!!

JConnectLA's Yom Kippur Program

Dear Friends,

It is with great joy to announce that we have upgraded our facilities and
program for the second part of our Get High On The Holidays program!

We will be hosting Kol Nidre, and all Yom Kippur programs in great facilities – a former Boys High School, 1445 S. Robertson Blvd., just south of Pico.

Thanks to your feedback we have also added an alternative learners service led by Rabbi Yonah that will be shorter, and more interactive.

Also we have two great Sukkot events! Friday Night Harvest Party in the Sukkah, Oct. 2, and Save Tue. Oct. 6th for our inaugural Sukkah Tour, (aka Sukkah Hop), a harvest festival progressive party by bus, visiting local sukkahs.
